XR design and prototyping at Grimshaw Architects

During my time at Grimshaw, I was a key member of the XR development team within the Design Technology department. Our collaborative efforts involved working alongside graphic designers, architects, structural engineers, project managers, and IT professionals. Together, we created innovative products for a variety of purposes, including presentations, design development, public consultations, and both private and public events.

 

In my role, I utilized the Unity engine and various AR packages such as Vuforia and Google ARCore, complemented by custom C# scripting. We dedicated 50% of our time to research and development (R&D), exploring cutting-edge technologies like Leap Motion for hand tracking and Microsoft Hololens, among others. This continuous innovation allowed us to stay at the forefront of XR development and deliver impactful, immersive experiences.
